Efficient hearing aid algorithm using DCT with uniformly re-sampled and recursively modified audiogram values

People with the hearing problems have different listening preferences and characteristics in loss. So, aids need algorithms that provide amplification based on frequency, so hearing-impaired persons can use comfortably for a long duration. In this paper, new algorithm is proposed order to compensate sensorineural conductive loss using discrete cosine transform (DCT). DCT coefficients of input audio signal are multiplied uniformly resampled recursively modified audiogram values This comprised 4 stages namely precomputation calculate gain from audiogram, DCT, adjustment, inverse DCT. above stated except precomputation, each stage requires only one matrix multiplication, which makes computational efficient. Performance compared uniform filter banks, non-uniform variable bank reconfigurable banks. The tested audiograms four cases. It proved provides less complexity, minimized delay better matching all types audiograms, further, it also avoids degradation due sampling rate conversions
